Canada’s new Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs speaks on the challenges confronting her in her portfolio.
Speaker: The Hon. Carolyn Bennett was a family physician prior to her entry into politics. In 1997 she was elected Member of Parliament for the riding of Toronto-St. Paul’s, which she continues to represent. She served as Minister of State for Public Health under Prime Minister Paul Martin, and in 2015 was named Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
