The Canadian International Council (Toronto Branch), in cooperation with the Bill Graham Centre for Contemporary International History, is pleased to announce the following event:
Presentation by Rt. Hon. Lord David Owen, former U.K. Foreign Secretary and former leader of U.K. Social Democratic Party, on Whether the U.K. Should Leave or Remain in the EU.
Followed by a question and answer session chaired by Hon. William (Bill) Graham, former Canadian Opposition Leader, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Defence.
Lord David Owen was Member of U.K. Parliament for 26 years. He was created a Life Baron in 1992, and sits as an independent social democrat in the House of Lords. Lord Owen served as EU peace negotiator in the former Yugoslavia and was co-author of the Vance-Owen Peace Plan. He also served as Chairman of New Europe from 1999-2005.
Hon. Bill Graham is currently Chair of the Canadian International Council and Chancellor of Trinity College at the University of Toronto. On April 6, 2016, he was one of four distinguished Canadians appointed by the Minister of National Defence to an advisory panel to assist in developing a new defence policy for Canada. He was appointed Member of the Order of Canada in 2014.
