How to Confront a Dictator: Benjamin Carter Hett

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022

7:00 - 8:30 pm EST

Online via Zoom.

How should a democracy confront a dictator bent on aggression? What should people in important positions in that dictatorship do to stop their country’s slide into ruin? If there is going to be a war, how should a democracy think about fighting it?

These were the questions facing much of the world in the 1930s and early 1940s, and they have sadly lost none of their relevance in our world. Benjamin Carter Hett’s book “The Nazi Menace” presents a world in which democracy was in crisis and faced a determined threat from authoritarianism. These are the themes Benjamin will explore.
